"Diamonds and Rust" is played in the slower acoustic style they adopted for the song when Tim Owens joined the band. Unfortunately this annoying trend was kept when Halford rejoined. Rather than sounding more emotional, or closer to the original Joan Baez tune, or whatever misguided reason they have for playing it in a decidedly more balladlike fashion, I just think it's sappy and lacks the galloping energy of the older Halford versions.

I would like to take this opportunity to point out I never understood Ripper's constant use of the "Judas Priest metal!" phrase at live gigs. Since Judas Priest is pretty much pure heavy metal personified, wouldn't that mean Ripper is really saying "heavy metal metal?" Constantly saying repetitive, redundant things can be an indicator of mental disability...
